About this image
Golden Falls State Natural Area Falls is locate in the Santiam State Forest in Oregon
Golden Falls is the highlight of Golden and Silver Falls State Park, located east of Coos Bay. It's one of Oregon's largest and most powerful waterfalls in the Coast Range. In the winter and early spring, you'll witness a substantial volume of water crashing over this impressive waterfall. It first plunges into a narrow slot carved into a tall cliff, then sprays outward about halfway down the cliff face.
There has been some debate about the waterfall's actual height. Some sources, like Greg Plumb's Waterfall Lover's Guide, estimate it at around 120-150 feet, while others suggest it could be closer to 325 feet.
