Starting at the Green Lakes/Soda Creek Trailhead located on the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway approximately 22 miles west of Bend, the Green Lakes Trail meanders alongside Fall Creek within the Three Sisters Wilderness area.
The picturesque mountain stream is supplied by Green Lakes, a collection a larger lake and multiple smaller ones situated at the foot of South Sister and Broken Top, which are two prominent volcanoes in the central Cascade range.
To reach Green Lakes, and the views of South Sister ones follow the trail along the picturesque Fall Creel mountain stream, traversing the creek on multiple occasions using slender wooden footbridges, with some of them lacking railings for added excitement before reaching Green Lakes and the views of South Sister.
